A tragic accident in Tuscola County, MI occurred at a rural intersection when a van carrying members of an Amish family was hit by a pickup truck that ran a stop sign. The collision resulted in the deaths of six people. The sheriff’s office reported that individuals from both the van and pickup truck were thrown from their vehicles during the accident. They emphasized the importance of safe driving, urging the public: “Please keep those affected by this tragedy in your thoughts. These incidents are preventable and people need to slow down and obey traffic laws.” Emergency responders worked to free those trapped inside the overturned van, and some of the injured were transported to local hospitals. According to the Sheriff’s department the number of people in the van containing the Amish family was 10 individuals. The Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
