A devastating vehicle accident rocked the Battle Creek community on Monday, July 14, 2025, when one teenager died, and another suffered serious injuries after being ejected during a crash on Irving Park Drive near Parkway Drive.
What Happened?
At approximately 1:10 a.m., police were called to the scene of a single-car accident. The vehicle, driven by an 18-year-old male from Battle Creek, had flipped over while performing dangerous stunts known as “doughnuts” in a parking lot. Two passengers—an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, both also from Battle Creek—were reportedly hanging out of the car’s windows during the alleged reckless driving.
When the car rolled over, both passengers were ejected. Tragically, the 18-year-old man was pronounced dead despite responders’ efforts to save him, while the 17-year-old girl is still hospitalized with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any serious injuries.
