Driver Injured in Mecosta County
A Jefferson Street crash in Mecosta County sent one man to the hospital Wednesday evening after a two-vehicle collision. Deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office responded just after 6:00 p.m. to the intersection where a truck turning north onto Jefferson Street collided with a westbound car. According to the sheriff’s office, the impact left the 36-year-old driver of the car injured at the scene.
Emergency crews from Mecosta Township Fire & Rescue, Mecosta County EMS and Meceola Consolidated Central Dispatch arrived to assist. The injured driver was transported to Corewell Health Big Rapids Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the truck was not reported injured.
Investigators say the Jefferson Street crash in Mecosta County remains under review as deputies examine the timing of the truck’s turn, the car’s approach from the west and other possible contributing factors. The sheriff’s office has not released additional updates regarding citations or roadway conditions.
