Meet Rita Rasho, the most recent addition to our law firm. This Chaldean-speaking attorney works with personal injury and auto accident cases. We asked her a few questions so you can get to know her better.
1.) Why did you choose to become an attorney?
As a child of immigrants, I grew up understanding the value of hard work and the importance of not taking education or opportunities for granted. My parents’ sacrifices instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility to use my knowledge to make a meaningful impact. Becoming an attorney allows me to help people who are often overwhelmed by legal challenges they cannot navigate on their own. I’m driven by the desire to advocate for those who need support, ensuring they have a voice and access to justice, regardless of their background or resources.
2. What made you want to join Khamo Law and practice auto law?
I wanted to join Khamo Law and practice auto law because it allows me to help people during some of the most difficult moments in their lives—when they’ve been injured in car accidents and are struggling to recover physically, emotionally, and financially. Being able to guide clients through these challenging times and ensure they receive the compensation and support they deserve is incredibly rewarding. Additionally, the opportunity to work under the leadership of the managing partner was a major reason I joined the team. His unwavering support, from writing my law school recommendation letter to motioning me into the bar, has been both inspiring and motivating, and I’m honored to be part of a firm led by someone I deeply respect.
3. What are some of your greatest challenges and accomplishments?
My greatest challenge has been overcoming imposter syndrome and the lingering feeling that I didn’t deserve to be where I was in life, despite my achievements. As the child of immigrants, I often felt the weight of high expectations and questioned whether I truly belonged in spaces that once seemed out of reach. However, my greatest accomplishment has been refusing to let those doubts define me. I worked hard, stayed focused, and ultimately graduated in the top 10% of my law school class—a milestone that not only proved to me that I belonged but also reaffirmed my ability to rise above self-doubt and achieve my goals.
4. What are your hobbies or current side projects that you have going on?
Right now, my main focus outside of work is preparing for some exciting life changes—I’m getting married soon, so I’m in the midst of planning a wedding. I’m also in the process of buying and furnishing a house, which has been a fun but busy adventure.
5. What is the best way for people to connect with you?
People can connect with me through phone, email, or social media.
