On the evening of Monday, September 1, 2025, a serious vehicle collision occurred in Pontiac near the intersection of Huron and Chippewa Streets. The accident involved a Buick Regal and a motorcycle, leaving the motorcyclist with critical injuries.
According to reports, the crash took place around 5 p.m. A 54-year-old Pontiac resident was driving the Buick Regal and made a left turn onto Chippewa Street. During the turn, they collided with a motorcycle traveling down Huron Street, throwing the motorcyclist—a 31-year-old, also from Pontiac—from the bike and onto the roadway.
Emergency responders rushed the injured motorcyclist to McLaren Oakland Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The Buick driver was also taken to the hospital, though they are expected to recover without significant long-term effects.
As of now, the incident remains under investigation as law enforcement works to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
Accidents like these frequently highlight the dangers motorcyclists face on the roads, particularly when another driver’s visibility, speed, or judgment in making left turns comes into question. Intersections, such as Huron and Chippewa Streets, are often high-risk areas for collisions, making precautionary measures essential for both drivers and motorcyclists.
