Child Dies After Porter Township 22nd Street Crash
A tragic Porter Township 22nd Street crash claimed the life of a 10-year-old Michigan boy on Thursday morning. According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, the child had crossed 22nd Street after checking his family’s mailbox when a white SUV struck him around 8 a.m. Deputies said a Mattawan Consolidated Schools bus was preparing to stop for students nearby when the collision occurred. The SUV’s driver, a 38-year-old woman, immediately contacted 911 and remained at the scene. Emergency responders transported the boy to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
